Details

A vast number of new and planned hotels are part of a building boom in the hospitality sector; new improved roads and modern airports which cater to millions of travelers are all contributing
factors to making India a preferred MICE destination.

Following the opening of South Asia’s first world class convention centre and India’s largest, Hyderabad International Convention Centre, in 2006, similar infrastructure has come up in places like Greater Noida, Lavasa, Kochi and Ahmedabad among others. Delhi’s Pragati Maidan, host of some of the biggest event is the country is undergoing major redevelopment today. Projects underway include The India International Convention & Expo Centre (IICC) - a world class integrated convention infrastructure, and probably one of India’s most ambitious infrastructure projects today, is coming up close to Delhi’s international airport. The convention centre will have a capacity to host 20,000 people and the 90-hectare complex will also house three five-star hotels, four four-star hotels, two three-star hotels, as well as service apartments.

In Mumbai, the Jio World Centre, located in the commercial district of Bandra Kurla Complex, will house an international convention centre, hotels, two malls including a luxury mall, performing arts theatre, a rooftop drive-in movie theatre and commercial offices.

With world-class hotels and facilities, an efficient communication system and widely spoken English, India is one of the preferred destinations for meetings or incentive programs.
