IFEMA and IFEMA PALACIO MUNICIPAL

Intro

IFEMA offers its well-known North Convention Centre, the Exhibition Halls and since January 2019, IFEMA Palacio Municipal. The metro station Feria de Madrid is right close from both venues. Distances to the city centre are short. The venues are easily accessible via roadways and by taxi Madrid International Adolfo Suarez Barajas Airport is just 5 minutes away and to Chamartin and Atocha train stations rides are 10-20 minutes. IFEMA Palacio Municipal offers an Auditorium for 1800 pax, a multipurpose space for exhibition and catering and additional 30 rooms from 25 to 350 pax. IFEMA Fairgrounds: myriad spaces with infinite possibilities: 12 Halls, 85 Rooms, 2 Auditoriums and 2 Catwalks.

Sustainability & Legacy are strategic aspects for IFEMA MADRID. Our main concern is to be an active agent in the creation of a new model of social, economic, and environmental sustainability, creating economic and personal value for all those around us. If you are interested I can give you examples of the sustainable actions that IFEMA has implemented as well as the list our ISO certifications. On other hand, the Madrid Convention Bureau was the first tourist body in Spain to implement legacy projects in congresses held in the city. To date, they have collaborated and/or promoted the organisation of legacy projects aimed at citizens, such as campaigns to promote healthy living habits or training in first aid (ESTRO 2021). The MCB has developed PLUS a platform that allows the generation of specific sustainability and CO2 reports for each meeting held in Madrid.

IFEMA, the Madrid Exhibition and Congress Centre, gets its activity underway in the Municipal Congress Centre now renamed as IFEMA Palacio Municipal.
With the start of the management of this iconic venue, IFEMA expands its range of spaces and its capacity to attract a greater number of national and international congresses and events. 
Feria the Madrid metro station is only at a 300 m distance from the venue´s main entrance and it has excelente communication links with the centre of Madrid and the airport.
Deby architect Ricardo Boffil, the venue is beautifully light and airy. The building has more tan 30,000 m2 of usable space divided into an exhibiton área of 4000 sqm gross, an Auditórium for 1800 people an additional 32 rooms with capacities from 50 to 350 people.

	I worked together with the Madrid Convention Bureau and the National Council throughout the entire bidding process. Therefore I prepared all the technical information for the bid, presented the venue and participated during the site visit that was decisive for choosing Madrid. FDI expects 5000 delegates in Madrid

	Madrid 2017 ESMO Congress
	Try IFEMA and you´ll be back! After having hosted ESMO 2014 where ESMO obtained the largest number of participants ever (almost 20.000) IFEMA is proud to announce that we will be hosting ESMO 2017. Madrid's air connectivity, the professionalism and quality of Madrid suppliers and satisfaction with IFEMA, were all key factors in Madrid being selected once again as a setting for this gathering.

	Spanish Association for Internal Medicine
	SEMI 2017 Congress Madrid
	I visited the Spanish PCO offices in Madrid and persuaded them to bring the congress to IFEMA. SEMI usually has 1700 attendees. I prepared the entire proposal, attended various site inspections and just recently passed the project onto operations team. The versatility of the North Convention Centre Rooms and the exhibition being placed in the Vestibule, centrally located between the meeting rooms, rooms were two key factors for confirming the event at IFEMA

	European Hematology Association
	Host City
	IFEMA will be hosting these 10,000 attendees. After losing a 2011 bid, together with the Madrid Convention Bureau we re-bid for this congress a second time and won the lead for 2017. I prepared IFEMA´s overall proposal including congress layout, rental estimates etc. I have been involved in site inspections and now the congress has been passed on to the operations team
