Intro

Geneva “the world's smallest metropolis” attracts numerous congresses: its international reputation, meeting facilities with state-of-the-art technology and hotels equipped to the most exacting standards make it a leading destination for business travelers in the heart of Europe! The Geneva University Hospitals manage a 1st class research program. The renowned CERN is one of the most prestigious scientific laboratories in the world. Furthermore Geneva is a big economic hub in many fields providing unique synergies and partnerships. Geneva is a walkable city and is also known for its unparalleled quality of life. VAT is the lowest in Europe (7.7%), the international airport welcomes flights from over 140 destinations and it takes only 7 minutes to reach the city centre by train.

New, Better and Different

A new location, CERN Science Gateway, will open in summer 2023. It will be an emblematic education and outreach facility. Through immersive exhibitions and hands-on educational activities, it will enable people of all ages and backgrounds to engage in the discoveries, the science and the technologies of CERN. Inspired by CERN’s technical buildings and underground tunnels, CERN Science Gateway will consist of five different spaces that will host exhibitions, hands-on laboratories, a large auditorium, a shop and a restaurant, all connected by a bridge 6 metres above-ground. With more than 2 000 square metres of solar panels and surrounded by a forest of 400 trees, CERN Science Gateway will have a net zero carbon footprint. Geneva's hotel portfolio is expanding, with new openings, among which, the Geneva Marriott Hotel (4*), the B&B, IntercityHotel (4*) and Adina Apartment Hotel (4*), all located near the airport and easily accessible from the city centre.
