International Confederation of Midwives
31st ICM Triennial Congress
As a destination, Toronto offered extraordinary congress and support facilities, ease of international travel, vibrant culture and world-leading health research. ICM HQ said this was by far their most successful congress with in excess of 4000 delegates. Toronto proved ideal due to the central location of the convention centre, variety of hotels, UP Express train from the airport to downtown, multi-cultural makeup of the city and activities for delegates. Toronto CVB assisted the local committee from the bid process to the eventual hosting of the congress. Provided support services to both the LOC and the PCO towards a successful congress. The central location of the convention centre and proximity of hotels and attractions all within walking distance enable major savings for the organizer and ease of access for delegates.
